Da Nang-Hue-DMZ (6 Days)

Day 1: Dang Nang City Tour, Welcome Dinner.

You will be picked up at hotel or airport by our guide for tour of Da Nang area. We will visit Marble Mountains where we will climb up nearly 200 steps to the top to visit an amazing cave which was used as emergency hospital by VC during 1968. Then we will have a stop at marble carving village to see how the local make beautiful sculptures. After that we will stop by the Helo Airbase, Old US Navy Hospital, and China Beach the R&R Beach for US soldiers and nurses before the battlefields during the war. You may want to have a walk or swim there if you want. Then we drive to center of city to visit Cham Museum, the second best collection of Cham Hindu Sculptures over the world. Welcome Dinner. Stay overnight in Da Nang. (B,L,D).

Day 2: Da Nang-Hue

Today we will drive north 110km to Hue. This is the most beautiful drive in Vietnam. We will stop at Red Beach where the US Marines first landed in Vietnam. You can have a bit free time for a walk along the beach. After that we will drive over Hai Van Pass (Pass of Ocean Load). Make a break on the top for a cup of coffee to recall the memory. We still see the bunks that US Marines used during the war as the observation base over highway 1. After break, we will go down and drive along the Lang Co Beach then head up to FSB Tomahawk. On the way to Hue, we will stop at Eagle Camp. Stay overnight in Hue. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Hue-Citadel-Dong Ha

In the morning, we will visit the Citadel, the home of the last imperial family in Vietnam. It was badly destroyed during the Tet Offensive 1968. This is the most blooding fighting place between both sides during the war. After that we drive 70km north along Highway 1 or known as Highway Of Horror to Dong Ha. Along the way we will visit La Vang Holy Land, Long Hung Church and Bo De School. They are both the historical relics. Lunch at a local restaurant. After that we will cross 17th Parallel, known as DMZ, and stop at Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River. At last, we will visit Vinh Moc Tunnel. Stay overnight in Dong Ha. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Dong Ha-Rockpile-Khe Sanh- A Luoi

Today we will drive 90km west most along Highway 9 but turn north a bit to Ho Chi Minh Trails to visit Con Thien FSB, the Hill of Angels, then back to highway 9 to visit Camp Carroll Fire Base, we also see Rockpile and the Razorback from the distance. Keep going, we will visit Khe Sanh Combat Base and Lang Vei Special Force Base after lunch. After that we will have a beautiful drive along Ho Chi Minh Trails to A Luoi which we will have chance to visit the Van Kieu, Bru hill tribe villages along the way. Stay overnight in A Luoi Town. Day 5: A Luoi-Hamburger Hill- A Shau Valley- Hue

 

Today we will start the day with steps. We will climb up nearly 800 steps to Hamburger Hill. So be ready for it. When we get to the top, we will study about the fight so that you will know where the name comes from. You also have a bit time to explore around. After Hamburger Hill, we will visit FSB Rendezvous and A Shau Airfield. Then we take rout 49 to Hue. Stay overnight in Hue. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Departure

You are free in the morning until airport transfer. (B)
